Single On Valentine’s Day?

Ahhh Valentine’s Day, the day of mixed feelings. While this is primarily a hallmark holiday, if you are single and feeling some type of way about it this Valentine’s Day, there are plenty of things to do instead of being depressed (because you don’t need no man).

Here are 20 fun things to do this Valentine’s Day that have nothing to do with l-o-v-e:

  1. Get dinner with your gal pals! Who says being single on Valentine’s Day has to be spent solo? Plan a Galentine’s Dinner and get all dressed up.

  2. Go see a movie. Some candy and popcorn and a good flick might be just what the doctor ordered. If going to a movie alone seems depressing, hang at home and watch one on Netflix!

  3. Bake a tasty dessert. You don’t need a man. Treat yo self.

  4. Pamper yourself with an at home spa treatment. Grab some face masks, nail polish, and any other spa treatments you’ve been eyeing.

  5. Book an actual spa treatment. Get a massage, or a facial, or both!

  6. Buy yourself flowers. *insert Miley Cyrus singing*

  7. Online shop. Some retail therapy might be the move!

  8. Binge watch a show that you’ve been meaning to watch.

  9. Take on a home improvement project. Single and capable!

  10. Order takeout from your favorite restaurant. No need to miss out on a great Valentine’s Day dinner just because you aren’t in a relationship.

  11. Spoil your pet for Valentine’s Day. Take them out on a little date and make their day!

  12. Go to a concert or see a show. If you were on a date you’d have to make small talk. Blah. Get lost in some music or a comedy show.

  13. Take a class. Whether it’s a cooking class, fitness class, or something you’ve been wanting to try, treat yourself to a fun experience!

  14. Crack open a new book. Get lost in a story, or in an audio book.

  15. Revamp your closet. Reorganize, throw things out you don’t need, and make room for some new, cute clothes to have you feeling refreshed and upgraded.

  16. Create a vision board. You know what’s so much better than sad drinking wine alone? Creating a vision board for what you want your future to look like. But you can also still drink the wine.

  17. Make old school Valentine’s Day cards for your bestie. It’s the day of love, and who do you love more than your girls?

  18. Try new makeup and/or hair tricks from YouTube tutorials. Get lost in the wide world of YouTube beauty, and try something new like contouring or fishtail braiding.

  19. Get your favorite snacks and make the ultimate snack board. Just like a charcuterie board, but with all snacks YOU love.

  20. Write down all the reasons you love YOU. Your relationship status does not define you or affect your value as a person. Journal and reflect on all the things you love about yourself.
